So I've just returned from a year long winnebago tour around Australia and most of the winery cellar doors in eastern Australia and all I have to show for it is 274 bottle of wines I really like - which is quite a reward.
I like wine, but I don't like all wines and I had to taste several thousand wines from hundreds of winemakers to arrive at those 274.
The nice thing about wine tourism from a winebago travelling at a leisurely pace around Australia is that you have the luxury of being able to taste that many wines, and meet many winemakers and learn a lot about their craft. But that's just Australian wines in the 2006/2007 vintage. What about the Old World wines or the wines of America or South Africa or New Zealand? Or how about other Australian vintages?
Either I'm going to have to stay in a winnebago or find a better way to find wines ... I'm working on something in that area. I'll get back to you soon ...
